Al Fresco Holidays offer self-catering holidays in 6 European countries, with accommodation in a variety of mobile homes.
All Al Fresco Holidays accommodation is self-catering, so your kitchen will have essential utensils and crockery for cooking. You can view an inventory guide on the FAQs section of the Al Fresco website. All accommodation comes with blankets and pillows, but linen packs need to be hired.
The Toscanini mobile homes are suitable for wheelchair users.
There can be a mixture of plug sockets, so we recommend you take some plug adapters. These can be purchases at airports, ports and in some supermarkets and chemists.
British and Irish citizens are required to have a full (10 year) passport to travel abroad. Application forms are available from the Passport Office, the post office or from the Garda (in Ireland). If you are applying for a passport for the first time, you should do this at least six weeks before your holiday.
Check in time is from 4pm – 7pm and check out time is from 9am to 10am. If your rep is off duty, a security guard will be available to check you in.
Many people choose to drive to campsites on the continent, and you can cross the English Channel either by ferry or on the Euro Tunnel train. Al Fresco can make ferry bookings for you - either book online, or call them on 0161 332 8900. Alternatively, you may wish to fly and arrange an airport transfer to your chosen campsite. Al Fresco can help you book your flights, arrange a car to be waiting for you or pre-book a taxi transfer.
Let your car insurance know that you’re travelling abroad and perform any maintenance checks needed (check tyre tread and pressure, top up oil and water etc.). You will need to buy a headlight adaptor kit to drive on the Continent – these stick over part of your headlight to avoid blinding other drivers when you’re driving on the right. It is compulsory to carry a warning triangle if you are driving in Europe in case of a breakdown or accident. This must be placed 30 metres from the car to warn oncoming traffic. In Spain you also need to place a triangle in front of the car. Hi-vis jackets for all car occupants are legally required in France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium, It is also compulsory to carry a breathalyzer kit in France, and single use kits can be bought at ports.
